Self Employment: Let's make financial cents.

Today I decided to gather some really cool ideas together for those of you who often consider working for yourself. Searching the net can lead you to thousands of ideas which can get overwhelming. It’s best to just think of something that you really enjoy doing or something that you already know how to do. Being creative with your ideas is what’s going to lead you to success.

Local Tour Consultant
If you have a love for local history, becoming a local tour consultant might be your perfect business idea. You can start off by simply offering walking tours of your city or specific history regions within your city. You’ll need to contact your local city offices to make sure there are no laws or regulations that would interfere. However, if you’re good to go, the only thing you need to get started is a website with your tour information and some local word of mouth to start your first tours.
Lala; Now this is a great idea that my mom brought to my attention while vacationing in France. If you live in Florida then you know we are the tourist state and many of us know our local towns like the back of our hand because we were raised there. Get paid for what you already know!

Cleaning Out Foreclosed Homes
The state of some foreclosed homes definitely leaves something to be desired. However, getting them cleaned up and ready for sale is necessary evil that someone has to do, and that someone might as well be you. You can find out if there is a need in your area for this type of work by contacting some foreclosure agents to see who to contact about cleaning the homes.
Lala; Who has a truck, a few lifts and a strong arm? Homes are being foreclosed on all the time and the trash after they have cleaned the inside can be pretty tough; I’m talking dangerous and large debris. Make use of this opportunity. Call your buddies and discuss when to get started.

Personal Grocery Shopping
Not everyone has the time or ability to get their own groceries. You can offer a needed service and work your own hours by completing someone else’s shopping list. This is an especially helpful service for new moms, seniors and if you are diet conscious, those with dietary restrictions or special dietary needs.
Lala; I recently spoke with my Amazon Prime friend (I’m still on Ebay) who bragged to me about how convenient it is for her to purchase groceries and household items online. The best part is they were delivered the next day in most cases. My friend is 36 and healthy as a horse but she is busy; We all know someone like this right?.....Lets make them the first customer.

Personal Trainer
Health is a high priority for many, and losing weight and getting fit are top concerns in this area. If you have a track record for helping people with their fitness in a specific area, you could have a very profitable business. Like many of these suggestions focusing on niche or target area can help you stand out as an expert in a growing industry.
Lala; Growing industry is an understatement for personal trainers right now. This field is at an all-time high and it works! People are paying big bucks to get fine, healthy, in shape, fit, or whatever term they prefer that gives them the confidence they need to meet their goal. Help them reach their goal. Next time you see someone make a post about weight lost, comment on the status and offer a free consultation. Start Today!

Freelance Photography
If you have a love for taking pictures, consider making it your new business venture. This is an area where having a specialty will help you to stand out. You can focus on typical portraits or consider other areas of photography such as travel, nature, food, corporate portraits or corporate photography.
Lala; Do you have a camera and a steady focus? Do you have a smartphone and a steady focus? If you answered yes to those 2 questions then you have a possible career at photography. Once you enter the field you will be amazed at some of the prices you get for a beautiful sunset, a crying child, take your PIC; you never know what companies are looking for.

Homemade Natural Soaps/Beauty Products
Similar to making your own gourmets foods, you can also create your own natural soaps or beauty products. The trend for going natural in all areas of our lives is growing and this is an area with some real potential.
Lala; I went to a networking event once and purchased some homemade soap. *PAUSE* I don’t know what natural products were mixed together but they worked! Too bad I didn’t buy a big bottle. I grew up using bar soap and the typical baby lotions, coco butter and so on but times have changed. People want natural products that bring out a natural glow. Get in the kitchen and see what works then market your product. I’m interested!

Restored/Upcycled Furniture Business
Are you handy when it comes to repairing furniture? Taking old things and refurbishing them, or even upcycling the various parts into something completely different, is a great way to earn a bit of extra cash. With this business Craigslist and social media are your best friend. Fix up a few pieces at a time and offer a “sale day” where people can come by and see everything you have. Or, just sell your pieces one at a time through social network listings.
Lala; Have you been on Pinterest lately? What an inspiring website for restored and upcycled gifts. I’m a firm believer that one’s trash is another treasure but with the right creative touch it can be a masterpiece. Think twice before you throw out that chair or ask your Dad for those tires in the back yard and put your skills to work.

Eldercare
With millions of people now living into their 80s and 90s, and with the cost of institutional living arrangements skyrocketing, many elderly and their families are opting instead for at-home companions. It not only keeps the cost of care low, but it also enables the elderly to continue living in their own homes.
Lala; If you are a people’s person with a heart this can be a great way to succeed financially. Senior citizens nowadays are sometimes busier than the youth however due to certain disabilities they aren’t able to make it back and forth like they use to. Gather some like-minded friends together and come up with companion or transportation services for those who can’t help themselves.

Buying and Selling
If you are good at locating bargains at places like thrift stores, estate sales, garage sales, or even online, you can start a business buying and selling. The basic idea is to buy items on the cheap, and sell them at a healthy profit. This is something like running a pawn shop in your home and online. You can sell your merchandise on websites such as eBay, Amazon.com, and Craigslist. You can also opt to sell them at garage sales from your home, or even at flea markets and swap meets.
Lala; If you have a good eye for fashion, art, antiques or vintage items then this could be a lucrative business. Try your luck and visit your local thrift store and see if you can discover any hidden treasures.

Light Hauling
If you have a sturdy pickup truck or van, you may have all you need to operate services for light hauling. People need a service like this for jobs that fall short of a full scale household move. For example, they may need delivery of a large item that they purchased at a store. Or they may need a large item that they sold to people moved to the buyer’s home. It could even be a situation in which an adult child is moving out on their own.
Lala; Moving is a challenge for most people, whether they just don’t feel like or maybe they don’t have the strength to do it, either way you can monopolize off this by offering your services at a competitive price. Be different from the rest and offer light hauling for specific services such as household furniture, yard waste, or roofing debris. Cash in on what others can’t do.

Black History Month for ALL to Enjoy

So as we head towards the end of Black History Month, I decided to provide some insight on those we may not have learned about in school. LESSON! I randomly selected the Super Stars below to help me Show Off this week. Some of us put so many barriers up in Life that prevents us from accomplishing our goals. I'm Sleepy, I just got off work, and I'm tired are just few of the familiar phrases we often hear and say. I'm almost positive that those before us would laugh at the excuses we make so we can just chill. The Good news is that it's never too late for a Fresh New start. I hope the people below will inspire you to see that anything is possible with consistency, dedication and motivation. *Copy and Paste the Links below to your browser for more info  Ballerina    Michaela DePrince From:  A Remote orphanage in Sierra Leone “Who would want to adopt a girl who looks like you?” The orphanage staff would tell her. http://blackgirllonghair.com/2015/08/michaela
