The Money Box Man

Smooth-Operator
      Notorious Con Man

Person of Interest: Victor Lustig born Jan. 1890

“Count” Victor Lustig was famous for being one of the smoothest con men in history, but his most impressive stunt was when he convinced six scrap metal dealers to bid on the Eiffel Tower

ME: Wait! The EIFFEL TOWER really.....How in the Heeeeeeell

Here's the story: Lustig got the idea when he read an article about how the Eiffel Tower was rusting, and the high cost of its maintenance and repairs. Since the tower was only suppose to stand for 20 years. Not one to miss an opportunity, Lustig devised a plan to convince the city’s biggest scrap-metal dealers that he was a government director charged with the discreet task of selling off the Eiffel Tower’s scrap metal. He rented limousines and gave tours of the landmark, and insinuated not only that this was very hush-hush government business, but that he could be bribed into accepting the winning bid.

One dealer was convinced, and paid Lustig $20,000 in cash plus an additional $50,000 to make sure his was the winning bid. Once he had the money, Lustig raced off to Austria to lay low while the story broke — but it never did since the dealer was too embarrassed to report Lustig’s scam.
Lustig later returned to Paris and gave it another try, but was worried one of the scrap dealers had notified the police. He fled to the U.S. where he was ultimately caught.

Me: How did he get caught? Being GREEDY! Make a long story short he tried the same trick again and someone got suspicious and called the authorities.
Talk about smooth operator though...
Not to mention this is just 1 one if his sneaky moves that he was able to pull off......Google his name for more.

10 Commandments for Con Men

·         Be a patient listener (it is this, not fast talking, that gets a con man his coups).
·         Never look bored.
·         Wait for the other person to reveal any political opinions, then agree with them.
·         Let the other person reveal religious views, then have the same ones.
·         Hint at sex talk, but don't follow it up unless the other person shows a strong interest.
·         Never discuss illness, unless some special concern is shown.
·         Never pry into a person's personal circumstances (they'll tell you all eventually).
·         Never boast - just let your importance be quietly obvious.
·         Never be untidy.
·         Never get drunk.

Black History Month for ALL to Enjoy

So as we head towards the end of Black History Month, I decided to provide some insight on those we may not have learned about in school. LESSON! I randomly selected the Super Stars below to help me Show Off this week. Some of us put so many barriers up in Life that prevents us from accomplishing our goals. I'm Sleepy, I just got off work, and I'm tired are just few of the familiar phrases we often hear and say. I'm almost positive that those before us would laugh at the excuses we make so we can just chill. The Good news is that it's never too late for a Fresh New start. I hope the people below will inspire you to see that anything is possible with consistency, dedication and motivation. *Copy and Paste the Links below to your browser for more info  Ballerina    Michaela DePrince From:  A Remote orphanage in Sierra Leone “Who would want to adopt a girl who looks like you?” The orphanage staff would tell her. http://blackgirllonghair.com/2015/08/micha...

Meantime our closet seems like its shrinking because were drowning it with things we really don’t wear or need! Let’s have a change of heart going into the New Year….Lets’ change a Life! Now many of you all may be like “No one wants this junk”....WRONG! If it isn't  damaged in any way you can donate it to someone or may be an organization that will SUCCESSFULLY give it to those in need. The chart below lists some very good information that we all should know BEFORE donating to these organizations…….Choose wisely! Worldy Standards?

{Worldly Standards?} Someone named Bryan Wilkerson came up with a set of "Beatitudes" for the 21st century! He said, "What if we made a list of the kinds of people who seem to be well-off [successful] - who seem to have it made - by today’s [worldly] standards?" It might go something like this: 1. Blessed are the rich and famous, because they can always get a seat at the best restaurants. 2. Blessed are the good-looking, for they shall be on the cover of "People" magazine. 3. Blessed are those who party, for they know how to have fun. 4. Blessed are those who take first place in the division, for they shall have momentum going into the playoffs. 5. Blessed are the movers and shakers, for they shall make a name for themselves. 6. Blessed are those who demand their rights, for they shall not be overlooked. 7. Blessed are the healthy and fit, because they don’t mind being seen in a bathing suit. 8. Blessed are those who make it to the to...
