A Story Of God's Power

Crossing the Red Sea God’s invincible Power After suffering devastating plagues sent by   God , the Pharaoh of Egypt decided to let the Hebrew people go, as   Moses   had asked. God told Moses he would get glory over Pharaoh and prove that the Lord is God. After the Hebrews left Egypt, the king changed his mind and was angry that he had lost his source of slave labor. He summoned his 600 best chariots, all the other chariots in the land, and marched his massive army in pursuit. The Israelites seemed to be trapped. Mountains stood on one side, the Red Sea in front of them. When they saw Pharaoh's soldiers coming, they were terrified. Grumbling against God and Moses, they said they would rather be slaves again than die in the desert. Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still...

Family Matters

FAMILY Family has many definitions but when you sum it up it’s who is closest to you that we consider our immediate family. Family is a destination where you feel at home, you feel loved and most importantly you know that regardless of what happens you will be there for each other no matter what. Each day we hear and read stories about people dying and missing although most of us never consider these situations if they aren’t close to home. Why is that? It shouldn’t take a death, or injury to wake up and realize that foolishness is foolishness and as long as you keep it going it will carry on from generation to generation. Is this fair? Must we raise our children to be biased, unforgiving, selfish and misunderstood? The behavior of a child is most often a reflection of how he/she is being raised in they’re home. Let’s consider this when raising our children ensuring that they are given a chance in life to love and not hate. The importance of having a good family relati...

African American Common Diseases

Common Diseases AIDS ·          In the nearly 30 years since the first AIDS cases were reported the virus has become a worldwide epidemic. Despite AIDS-related education programs increasing, the spread of the disease has still been staggering. Even more staggering are the numbers of AIDS cases in the African-American community. As recently as 2006, Black Americans made up 45 percent of new AIDS cases despite being just 13 percent of the population. That same year, gay and bisexual black men under the age of 30 accounted for more new HIV cases than any other race or age group. The death rate among African-Americans was also disproportionately large in 2006. While the number of total deaths dropped by nearly 14 percent from the previous year, the number still represented more than half of the HIV- and AIDS-related deaths in the United States. Asthma ·          While not all of the causes for ast...
